New Delhi, July 27: Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday chaired a comprehensive review meeting with officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to assess key civic priorities across the national capital, with a focus on monsoon preparedness and public service delivery.
The meeting reviewed the status of solid waste management, measures to prevent waterlogging, and efforts to curb vector-borne diseases during the monsoon season.
The Lieutenant Governor also reviewed traffic congestion at toll plazas and directed officials to examine the Indore model for traffic management, with a view to implementing it on a pilot basis in one MCD zone.
In addition, the meeting assessed the progress of the PM-UDAY Scheme, the city’s road resurfacing plan, and the need for dedicated road safety audits across Delhi.
Emphasising the importance of effective governance, Taranjit Singh Sandhu said every MCD officer must remain vigilant, proactive, and accountable in delivering efficient civic services. He stressed that a cleaner, safer, and more resilient Delhi can only be achieved through timely execution of projects and a strong sense of responsibility among civic officials.
